Ocean City, Maryland Renews MGH’s Contract through 2020

Three-year contract renewal was approved by the Ocean City, Md. Mayor & Council and extends 15-year relationship

BALTIMORE (July 6, 2017) – MGH, a full-service marketing communications agency, today announced that its contract with the Ocean City, Md., Department of Tourism has been extended for three years, through Dec. 31, 2020. Ocean City’s City Council unanimously voted to extend the contract after a unanimous recommendation was made by the Tourism Commission to renew the contract for three years.

Under the new agreement, MGH will continue to provide advertising, media buying, public relations, social media, and interactive services for the tourist destination.

“We are thankful to the Town of Ocean City, Md., for extending our contract for another three years through the year 2020, which will bring our relationship to a total of almost 20 years,” said Andy Malis, president of MGH. “This extension is confirmation that our integrated marketing campaigns have been successful in consistently delivering work that continues to improve tourism in the destination town. We look forward to continuing to develop campaigns that get talked about, but more importantly attract visitors from all over the region.”

During the last 15 years, MGH has worked with Ocean City in a full-service capacity. Most notably, the agency created several award-winning campaigns for the destination, including its End of the World campaign and several iterations of everyone’s favorite Spokesguard, Rodney. Over the last few years, MGH has created several iterations of a campaign that urges people to use their vacation days for an actual vacation, rather than medical appointments or a trip to the MVA.

“MGH’s efforts over the last 15 years have been essential to the vitality of Ocean City. Their ability to continue to create campaigns that drive buzz, business and visitors made it an easy decision for the Tourism Commission,” commented Ocean City Tourism Director, Donna Abbott. “Over the next three years, we look forward to collaborating on fresh, family-friendly ideas to continue to attract visitors along the East Coast and beyond to Ocean City.”
