Public Relations and Marketing Account Manager
 

MGH, a full-service marketing communications agency recognized as one of Ad Age’s 2019 and 2020 Best Places to Work, is currently seeking a talented public relations and marketing account manager to join our team. 

Qualified candidates will have 6-8 years of experience in an integrated marketing communications or public relations agency environment, have strong written and verbal communications skills, excel at managing multiple projects at the same time, as well as proven experience managing and executing successful public relations and thought leadership campaigns. Additionally, applicants should have experience leading media pitch teams, developing and executing a PR strategy, and analyzing and using data to help inform thoughtful recommendations. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop strategic PR plans -- both proactively planned and reactive to trends -- on behalf of multiple agency clients in a variety of industries. 
  • Conceptualize, package and present imaginative, inventive and market-disrupting ideas to clients to help them stand out and earn coverage and credibility in a competitive media environment. 
  • Lead earned/PR teams in media outreach and thought leadership campaigns by executing media pitch efforts, while also directing all team efforts, mentoring team members on media relations best practices and driving team performance. 
  • Serve as clients' primary point of contact for PR/earned efforts
  • Partner with group account directors, who lead strategic efforts across earned, paid and owned channels, to ensure PR work integrates with broader account focus
  • Manage crisis communications as needed for clients in tandem with senior agency leadership 
  • Develop client-ready presentations and reports for campaigns and annual reports, offering data-driven conclusions and forward-looking recommendations 
  • Execute multiple tasks simultaneously, under tight deadlines

What You’ll Need:

  • 6-8 years of public relations and account management experience in an agency setting 
  • Proven experience in securing high-profile national and local market media placements
  • Exceptional writing skills (and proficient in AP Style) with experience pitching TV and print/online media, writing press materials (press releases, media advisories, media pitches, etc.) 
  • Experience leading media pitch teams that deliver results 
  • Ability to present confidently and run client-facing meetings and strategy discussions
  • Some experience integrating PR with broader marketing goals is preferred
  • Self-starter who is flexible, adaptable and able to work professionally with a variety of personalities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding but also fun environment
