MGH Wins Best in Show Award for Baltimore Bill from Public Relat

Baltimore agency wins two Best in Maryland Awards and took home the coveted Best in Show Award for its public relations and marketing work for OLD BAY

BALTIMORE (Dec. 9, 2013) MGH, a full-service marketing communications agency, announced that it has won two Best in Maryland Awards and the overall Best in Show Award for the Baltimore Bill annual event from the Maryland Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA-MD). The 2013 Best in Maryland Awards program included entries from 25 companies across the state, with winners chosen in 25 categories. The awards were handed out a special gala at the Hotel Monaco in Baltimore on Dec. 5.

MGH won Best in Maryland Awards in the following categories:

  • Integrated Marketing Communications: Baytriotism
  • Special Event and Celebrations: Baltimore Bill
  • Best in Show: Special Event and Celebration, Baltimore Bill

“We’re thrilled to have received two Best in Maryland Awards, as well as the coveted Best in Show distinction,” said MGH President Andy Malis. “MGH was instrumental in helping OLD BAY execute its ‘Baytriotism’ campaign and Baltimore Bill annual event, and we’re honored to see the work we created for them being recognized on the state-level by the Public Relations Society of America Maryland Chapter.”

Baytriotism is a campaign MGH created for OLD BAY designed to help the company re-engage with its Baltimore roots and customer base. Through a mix of public relations, traditional and non-traditional advertising, mobile and social media tactics, Baytriotism permeated the city during the summer of 2012. MGH kept the momentum of Baytriotism alive by bringing to life Baltimore Bill, a weather-predicting crab that would crawl down a specially-designed plank into the Inner Harbor to determine if Baltimore would have a warm fall or early winter. The stunt earned numerous local and national media placements for OLD BAY.

The Best in Maryland Awards is presented annually to public relations practitioners who, in the judgment of their peers, have successfully addressed a communications challenge with exemplary professional skill, creativity and resourcefulness.
